Viva la Salsa !!

Salsa Greetings to everybody!! This web site is dedicated to all of you, lovers of this Latin-African-Caribbean-American music, better known worldwide as the tropical music “SALSA”. We want to begin this introduction by giving our gratitude to all the beautiful people that have supported us throughout the years on all the Radio Stations and all the Night Clubs in which we have and will keep on working. We would like to thank all of our friends, the “bailadores” (salsa dancers), for having filled with their energy and enthusiasm our dance floors, and at the same time “congratulate” them for all the successes they all have obtained. We really wish them, from the bottom of our hearts, more success in the years to come!

When talking about “bailadores”, we must start with a “bailadora”, that without a doubt, I can refer to as the “Godmother of the dancers”: Lourdes “La manita”. Many of us know that she has oriented and encouraged most of today’s more outstanding dancers, isn’t it right? Another person that deserves our recognition is Maribel P. that has always been with us everywhere we go and has contributed a lot in the Salsa growth in Los Angeles. She has been one of the first people to start giving Salsa lessons and thanks to her; the Night Clubs will always be full of great dancers. Keep up the good work, Flaquita!!

Salsa Greetings to Joel Hernandez, to whom my brother Mario “baptized” as “El Sonerito”. Besides being a great dancer he is also a great friend, who has always been with us in the good and bad times. Salsa Greetings to the Vasquez brothers: Francisco “El Rumbero Mayor”, always creating a unique style of dancing; Luis, the salsa dancer who once wanted to become a singer, but thanks to his passion for the dance he met his current partner and beautiful wife, Joby. Congratulations to you both! Johnny Vasquez, now here is a 100% Rumbero. Everything he wants is to dance and dance. I remember him as the young man that could not get in the Night Clubs because he was a minor, and my brother and me had to do everything we could to get him in. Nevertheless, we are very happy to have done so, because watching you dance, Johnny, is a real pleasure. Another “bailador”, which deserves to be mentioned, is Rogelio Moreno. We saw him start from “zero”, and now he deserves our respect and recognition, because with a lot of effort and dedication, going with us Wednesday through Sunday, from club to club, he has become one excellent dancer with a style full of class and elegance. Congratulations “pupil”!

I would love to mention each and every one of you, but unfortunately the space in this page is limited, therefore I apologize to the ones I couldn’t mention, but you know that all of you will always be present in our hearts. All of us that are involve in this “SALSA MOVEMENT”, are not here to fight or criticize each other, but to the contrary, we are here to unite and join forces like in the beginning. Only together we’ll be able to keep this tradition alive, this music left to us by singers and “Soneros” such as: Tito Rodriguez, Ismael Rivera, Hector LaVoe, Machito, Louie Ramirez, Frankie Ruiz, etc., etc.

Now, let’s show the world that Salsa is here to stay and that here in Los Angeles, with or without a Radio Station, Salsa is still growing and is our passion. No matter what they say, Salsa is here to stay! So now and forever “Que Viva La Salsa!!!”
